EEP Africa Call for Proposals launch

The new Energy and Environment Partnership Trust Fund (EEP Africa) is hosted and managed by the Nordic Development Fund (NDF). With a combined commitment of EUR 25 million from Finland and NDF, it will support clean energy access and sustainable and inclusive green growth projects in 15 countries in Southern and East Africa. EEP Africa will operate as an open, competitive challenge fund providing early stage grant and catalytic financing to innovative clean energy projects, technologies and business models. At the event EEP Africa will launch its first Call for Proposals.

Power Africa Handbook Launch

(Co-hosted with Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr), refreshments and launch of the third handbook in Power Africa’s “Understanding” series, Understanding Power Project Procurement. The newest Power Africa handbook, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development, is intended to serve as a practical resource for decision-makers on the policy and strategy behind the procurement of power projects. The issue of power project procurement is often raised as a persistent challenge in the African market, which has led to this reference guide that lays out the procurement procedures governments have employed to manage the orderly planning, negotiation, and construction of power projects.
