Transmission & Distribution

Transmission & Distribution (T&D) in Africa

The population of sub-Saharan Africa is expected to increase by 80% between 2018 and 2040. With electricity generation having to almost double to maintain per capita provision, vast investments are needed to transmit this power to the market.

Currently only 26% of the continent is grid commercial, therefore grid coverage expansions in Africa will require investments of $800 billion by 2040.
