Egmont has over 20 years of experience in waste to energy, energy management and sustainability, including development and implementation of energy and climate change strategies for the cement and lime industries.  He is a Chemical Engineer and Certified Energy Manager. Egmont was responsible for the development of the Alternative Fuels, energy and climate change strategies in the cement industry and has worked on several renewable energy. Recently, he was also responsible for the implementation of the New Horizons Waste to Energy project in Cape Town, a first of its kind MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) processing plant.
