Emma Miller joined Shell Foundation in 2015 and is working in the Access to Energy portfolio. She leads the Shell Foundation’s work in the mini-grid sector and has been actively working to unlock more capital into the mini-grid sector through Shell Foundation’s work with a) Crossboundary Energy Access’s project equity facility, b) standardisation and better monitoring through Odyssey Energy solutions and c) regular data reporting and private sector insights through AMDA to help design simple, effective, and credible subsidy programmes as needed to scale the sector. She spent three years working in Finance within the Shell Group before joining Shell Foundation. Previously she worked at Qualcomm Ventures in the USA and in Beijing, then in a few early-stage London tech start-ups. Emma has a BA in International Economics, an MSc in Economics/Finance and is a Chartered Management Accountant.
