Member of the South African Chemical Institute and the South Africa mirror committee for IEC TC 10(International Electro technical Commission) and serves on SANAS/SABS committees .He is the Founder of Transformer Chemistry Services (TCS), which was an independent laboratory, and consulting firm that specializes in diagnostic testing of insulating materials used in high-voltage electrical equipment. It was established in 1992 as the first commercial laboratory to offer gas-in-oil and Furanic analysis in South Africa. In 2017 he negotiated an acquisition with Wearcheck and is now the Senior Consultant for the Transformer Division.He graduated from the Vaal University of Technology with a National Diploma in Analytical Chemistry and has completed various certificates in Chromatography at the Durban University of Technology -Advanced Analytical Training Unit. He has over thirty five years of related experience in Transformer Oil diagnostics of which 16 years was gained while working for ESKOM. He has authored several publications, presented at Conferences on Transformers oil analysis and Condition Monitoring of High voltage electrical equipment both Internationally and in Southern Africa.
