Mary is a professional engineer with degrees from Stanford University and the Royal Technical Institute in Stockholm. She has over 10 years’ experience delivering exceptional environmental and social sustainability outcomes in the built environment, and seeks integrated solutions to create healthier, safer and more liveable cities.  Mary now leads the City of Cape Town’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency team, facilitating a wide range of projects within the Sustainable Energy Markets department. These include further uptake of small-scale embedded generation and new technologies such as Electric Vehicles, with the goal of shifting people’s energy choices for a better future.
