Coca-Cola Community Water Roundtable

African countries are working hard to expand access to safe water for millions of people across the continent. But with rapidly urbanising populations and increased pressure on infrastructure, solutions to provide safe water supplies require more than investment in utility infrastructure.

Water security is central to Coca-Cola’s water stewardship strategy and working closely with water utilities and other local authorities, the company invests in community water projects across Africa that protect watersheds and economically empower communities.

The Coca-Cola Community Water Roundtable, a side-event during African Utility Week will gather critical inputs from leaders in the water sector.

The participants will discuss water risks, identify scalable interventions, provide insights into best practices, and motivate partnership opportunities that inspire impactful solutions across the Southern and East Africa region.

These insights will be used to inform The Coca-Cola Company’s global water strategy for 2021 and beyond.

Contributions from partners in non-governmental organisations, governments, technical experts, environmental and advocacy groups will also be used to find ways to measurably improve the lives of millions of Africans through access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene.
